University School, Heritage Delray part of ESPN’s High School Football Kickoff weekend   July 4th, 2012

ESPN has announced its full schedule for this year’s High School Football Kickoff weekend, and yes, South Florida is well-represented.

We’ve already reported that American Heritage-Delray will be traveling to Cocoa to face Cocoa and that University School is traveling to Ohio to play Trotwood-Madison, but now we have an idea of the other teams participating in ESPN’s kickoff event. And we also have an idea of the schedule.

According to ESPN, this year’s event features 26 teams from 15 sates, including 12 defending champions. And 11 of the players are listed as ESPN 150 prospects including Heritage-Delray running back Greg Bryant, University defensive tackle Maquedius Bain,and University receiver Jordan Cunningham.

Friday, Aug. 24

8 p.m.: Joliet Catholic (Illinois) vs. Providence Catholic (Illinois), ESPNU
8 p.m.: Minnetonka (Minnesota) vs. Arrowhead (Wisconsin), ESPN3
9 p.m.: Good Counsel (Maryland) vs. Bishop Gorman (Nevada), ESPN2
10 p.m.: Mullen (Colorado) vs. Valor Christian (Colorado), ESPN3

Saturday, Aug. 25

Noon: American Heritage-Delray vs. Cocoa, ESPN
3 p.m.: Fork Union Military Academy (Virginia) vs. Hermitage (Virginia), ESPNU
3:30 p.m.: Staley (Missouri) vs. Lee’s Summit West (Missouri), ESPN
7 p.m.: Byrnes (South Carolina) vs. Oscar Smith (Virginia), ESPN
9 p.m.: Ensworth (Tennessee) vs. Lexington Catholic (Kentucky), ESPNU
10 p.m.: Santa Margarita (California) vs. Brophy College Prep (Arizona), ESPN2
