Nick Travieso signs with Reds July 9th, 2012
Former Archbishop McCarthy pitcher Nick Travieso and the Cincinnati Reds came to terms on a million deal Tuesday, and he will officially join the organization Wednesday, according to multiple media outlets.
The million signing bonus is well below the prescribed slot for the No. 13 pick in the draft, which is where Travieso was selected. Major League Baseball suggests a signing bonus of .375 million for the No. 13 pick.
Travieso had signed with the University of Miami baseball team, but will forgo that commitment for a professional baseball career.
