With the BCAA Girls Big 8 Basketball Championship set to begin Thursday at Deerfield Beach, we figured it’d be interesting to take a walk down memory lane…or more accurately, revisit all the boys and girls championship matchups.

On the girls side, powerhouses Dillard and South Broward have each won 5 Big 8 titles–more than any of the other programs in Broward County. And it was Deerfield Beach that put up the biggest margin of victory, besting Dillard 78-45 in 2003.

On the boys, no one has more titles than Dillard or Boyd Anderson, both of whom have won five championships.

Here’s the all-time list of Big 8 winners. Who do you think will be bringing the titles home this year?

This weekend, the top girls basketball teams in the Broward County Athletic Association will meet to decide the county champion.

In recent seasons, Dillard has taken ownership of the tournament, winning four straight titles and each year, they’ve bested Nova for those championships. The way things are set up, the two could meet again. Both are on opposite sides of the bracket.

Teams are selected for the Big 8 based on their head-to-head records against other Broward County Athletic Association teams.

Here’s the schedule for this year’s Girls Big 8, which begins Thursday at Deerfield:

Thursday, Jan. 27:
3:30 p.m.: Dillard vs. Coconut Creek
5:00 p.m.: Cypress Bay vs. Nova
6:30 p.m.: Miramar vs. Cardinal Gibbons
8:00 p.m.: Boyd Anderson vs. South Broward

Friday, Jan. 28:
Semifinals set for 6:30 and 8:00 p.m.
