With 2012 coming to a close, it’s time to go out with a bang by rocking an awesome outfit on New Year’s Eve!

However, if you still have no clue what you’ll be wearing tomorrow night, don’t worry! We’ve come up with three sparkly and stylish head-to-toe NYE looks – hair and makeup ideas included. Simply scroll on down to check ‘em out:

Outfit Idea #1: Cozy Night In

If your NYE plans consist of lounging with friends or fam and watching the ball drop on TV, you’ll want to wear something cozy and low-key that still packs a stylish punch. Opt for a striped knit sweater with sequined detailing, because, in our opinion, every NYE ensemble needs a little sparkle. Add a pair of jade green skinnies as well as some super-comfy studded moccasins.

Style your hair into a chic, low bun — similar to the pic above — then accessorize that ‘do with a braided metallic headband. Shimmering blush will give your cheeks a rosy glow, while leopard print nail polish strips are a fun and low-maintenance touch. Finally, show off that mani with an oversized cocktail ring.

Outfit Idea #2: House Party

Nye outfit idea 2

Whether you’re near campus or back in your hometown, odds are that someone you know is throwing a New Year’s bash. If you plan on attending a house party this year, wear something bold that’s sure to stand out in a crowd, like the outfit above.

To get this look, start with a black blouse – this one mixes chiffon and velvet to create a luxe look – and pair it with a pretty metallic skirt. Lace tights add a feminine vibe, while deep purple pumps lend a pop of color.Accessorize with gold chain earrings and a unique fur-trimmed bag.

As far as hair and makeup goes, mimic Natalie Portman’s look by styling your hair into soft waves and sporting a sultry smokey eye. For the finishing touch, paint your nails a gorgeous black-and-gold shade.

Outfit Idea #3: Fancy Night Out

Nye outfit idea 3
Product Info: Blazer- Forever 21, Dress- ModCloth, Shoes- Zara, Nail Polish- Essie’s “No Place Like Chrome”, Eyelashes- Nordstrom, Earrings- BaubleBar, Bag- DSW, Lip Stain- Revlon’s “Crush” | Photo: ELLE

If you’re attending a super-fancy NYE soiree, first of all, we’re jealous! Secondly, this is the perfect time to go all out with a sparkly, glamorous, “look-at-me” outfit. This gold sequined frock is the epitome of glam, and styling it with a tuxedo blazer creates a polished, party-ready look. Add a pair of platform pumps and sapphire blue stud earrings to continue the dressy look, then accessorize with a whimsical bow-shaped clutch.

Wearing your hair to the side complements the dress/blazer combo, while chrome nail polish gives your digits an awesome mirrored effect. Next, try wearing some false lashes for a movie star-worthy look. Finally, a deep red lip stain adds a pretty dose of color that won’t need reapplying.

Your thoughts?

How do you plan to ring in the new year? Do you like these outfits? Which one is your favorite? Are you planning to recreate any of these looks? As always, leave a comment below and tell us what you think!

As a CF reader, I know you’re all privy to the wonderful benefits that layering can bring to your cool-weather wardrobe. Well, one of my favorite layering tools located in almost every girl’s closet is a cozy, worn-in flannel shirt.

In this post, we’re taking everyone’s favorite staple item and remixing to create a few new outfits with pieces you probably already own. Read on to check out some style tips!

Rustic Layering

The mere thought of a flannel button-down shirt makes me think of sipping hot chocolate by the fireplace in an earthy log cabin. And yes, I watch way too many movies.

Play up this wintery vibe by layering your flannel shirt with thick cable knit sweaters, utility jackets, denim, leather, or pretty much anything you find in your closet. A mix of different textures and fabrics will give you the most chic, street style-y kind of look. Below, I paired a red flannel shirt with a cream colored boyfriend cardigan, worn with skinny cargoes and topped off with a fur-lined denim jacket. Finish the look with a pair of boots and a few no-frills accessories, like this leather bracelet.

Night On The Town

Most girls would never think of a flannel shirt as being appropriate for girls night out — but your most comfortable shirt can absolutely work: All it takes is a little bit of dressing up!

A flannel shirt can look amazing with the sleeves rolled up to 3/4 length, unbuttoned a bit (maybe even to reveal a lacy cami), and tucked into a skirt. Be creative with the skirt — anything from a fitted bandage skirt to a leather A-line skirt, or even a hi-lo skirt like the one pictured below can work! The two pieces juxtaposed together will look bold and funky, and will be even more awesome with statement earrings, heels, and a glamorous clutch. Just don’t act too surprised when the Sartorialist appears out of nowhere to snap your picture!

’90s Throwback

If you look at my past CF posts, it’s no secret that I’m absolutely crazy for the ’90s fashion renaissance we’ve been experiencing. This, of course, is the era that flannel shirts are most closely associated with. There’s a way to get a cool, grungy ’90s look without looking sloppy or overly dated, though!

To start, try layering a flannel over your favorite graphic tee. If a concert tee is a little too Kurt Cobain-esque for your liking, go with any other graphic tee in your closet! Balance out the look with a pair of skinny-cut colored cords. Finish with a pair of sneakers and — if you’re feeling really daring — a bowler hat.

Outdoors and Cozy

Of course, probably the second strongest association people have with flannel shirts is a burly man chopping wood in the countryside. Well I know this sounds insane, but we can make “lumberjack chic” a cute look — I’ll prove it!

Quilted vests are amazing for staying warm in harsh winds, and can be worn either inside or outside of most winter coats. Wear one on top of a flannel shirt for an outdoorsy and functional (but still super adorable) look. Finish with a pair of comabt boots, a beanie, and chic fingerless gloves. You’ll look perfect for playing in the leaves, going to a bonfire, picking apples, or pretty much any fun (and slightly cliche) fall activity!

How do you wear your favorite flannel shirt?

I shared a few of my ideas, but now it’s your turn. What do you like to pair your flannel shirt with? How do you feel about these outfits? What other winter staple can you not live without? Would you ever wear a flannel shirt with a skirt? What about open over a graphic tee, like the grunge ’90s trend?

Medical dissertations are among the most popular papers nowadays. They are often written by the students, scholars, and doctors, as far as the concern with human health is constantly growing. Medical dissertations constitute a great part of dissertations in the world.

However, this fact increases the risk of failing to write an interesting medical dissertation. Since all the important health issues have been discussed for centuries, there is almost no possibility to stay original and fresh.

For this reason, writing a medical dissertation can become challenging. The scholars are worn out, and they have no more idea about how to improve their medical dissertations and make them special. The next list contains several idea about how to do it:

Use your own examples. As a rule, the authors of the medical dissertations discuss the results of work of the other scholars, who studied the topic for a long time. However, the thing that can make a medical dissertation unique is one’s own examples for different cases. Try to be original and show that your medical dissertation is trustworthy.

Use visuals. In order to impress the readers, it is worth using visuals in a medical dissertation. Indeed, both medics and ordinary readers will feel more encouraged to read a medical dissertation in case it is illustrated.

Present results. Your medical dissertation has to make a significant contribution to the science as a whole. Your task is to demonstrate the significance of the results. Try to present the achievements of your research in a way that would impress the readers. Make them believe that your medical dissertation is the only work that achieved such results.

Shelves full of books in the library

There comes a time in the life of every college student’s life when we’re faced with the inevitable: the library. I’m not talking about a trip to check out a few books for a research paper — I’m talking a full-on, day-long, marathon study session at the library.

Whether you’ve got an insane midterm schedule or you just procrastinated on a project, you’re bound to spend some time in the library during your college career. And while the library isn’t a fashion show, there’s no reason you should show up in sweatpants, UGGs, and a ratty t-shirt. After all, when you’re dressed in sleepwear, it’s that much easier to daydream about your cozy bed!

The key to dressing for the lib is to find a balance between comfort and “real” clothes. You want to make sure that you feel motivated to tackle your workload but are comfortable enough to stay seated for at least a few hours. Read on for some tips to make dressing for a study session a little easier.

Tips on Dressing for the Library

  • If you’re going to wear leggings, be sure they’re THICK and that you wear a long top. If you only take one thing away from this article, let it be this. I (gasp!) don’t see anything wrong with wearing leggings as pants… as long as the leggings are very opaque and thick enough to give you coverage. And when in doubt, it’s always better to go with a top or cardigan that goes well past your butt.
  • Keep the “loud” accessories to a minimum. Those bangles that let everyone know when you’re half a mile away? That charm bracelet that jingles every time you move a finger? Leave those in your dorm room. Loud jewelry is annoying to everyone else in the library, and I personally always have to take off my wrist jewelry whenever I’m working at a computer for a long time. Accessorize with earrings, necklaces, or scarves instead.
  • Wear shoes you can slip in and out of easily. Again, maybe this is just my personal preference, but I love to sit cross-legged or stretch out in chairs when I’m studying. By wearing shoes or boots that don’t have straps or zippers, you can easily switch study positions as often as you like.
  • Dress in layers. The library thermostat at my college is notoriously bipolar. One floor is like the Sahara, and the very next floor feels like Antarctica. To combat this, wear layers! Tank tops, cardigans, and scarves will help you stay stylish and able to focus on your work no matter what the temperature is.

What Do You Think?

What do you wear for a day at the library? Do you have any tips for dressing for study success? What kind of activities would you like to see covered in “What to Wear There?” I’d love to hear from you, so be sure to leave a comment!

A+ Homework Assignment: Essay, Term Paper, Dissertation

Are your weeks feeling a little… flat? Nothing soothes the pain of the third consecutive hour of Chem lab or that monotonous summer job like the promise of something better waiting around the bend, so why not get your favorite people together and start a mid-week (or mid-month) tradition?

Here are a few ideas to get you started!

Dinner!

There’s not much reason to try new foods or cook a big meal when you’re dining solo, so talk your favorite people into doing a little weekly (or monthly, if you’re nervous chefs) dinner party. You can each bring something yummy, take turns cooking for each other, or make it a group activity where you all mess up the kitchen together.

Lucky for you, I’ve got some great ideas about starting a dinner club (and ideas to spice it up!).

…and a Movie

If dinner’s not your thing, why not start up a weekly movie night? It’s a great low-key activity, so you can invite anyone (handy if you’re looking for a reason to sit cozily next to your crush without being too obvious!) and you can take turns choosing the week’s film so you get a good taste of new genres, or stick to a theme like classic black and whites, the “Brat Pack” 80’s movies, or a marathon of James Bonds.

The NY Times list of the Best 1,000 Movies can help you start your list!

Be Bookish

Love books but hate textbooks? Starting up a casual book club is a fun way to make sure you fit some non-required reading into your schedule, and its kind of nice to share your opinion–good or bad–without being graded on it. Just be sure there are some comfy chairs and snacks involved.

Share your favorites and your to-read list on Goodreads and find something you can all get into!

Tube Time

Need something even easier to plan? Just get together to watch your favorite show. Pop some popcorn, secure the remote from your roomie, and enjoy the latest episode of The Voice.

Don’t worry if you missed last week’s episode, Television Without Pity can catch you up with funny, snarky reviews.

Get Creative

Still looking for more? Catch up on my previous suggestions for fun & easy get-togethers (for guys and girls), or come up with something on your own. Your mini-party can be anything from building a (legal!!) bonfire to working out en masse–just make it social, and make it fun!
