Fall is such a wonderful time – the arrival of cooler weather gives everyone a little bit of excitement, even if it’s just a chance for you to break out that coat from your closet! Of course, it’s also a great time to try something new in terms of fashion. While you may not keep up with runway trends with midterms going on, Alice + Olivia’s Fall 2012 collection is a fab source of inspiration for your seasonal wardrobe! The line features elements for every taste – from girly to edgy and everything in between.

This Alice + Olivia Fall 2012 look is so sparkly and fun! To create a similar look with a bit of an edge for fall, wear a sequined tee with a pair of faux leather shorts. Knee-high socks and ankle booties create a fierce vibe, while stud earrings and an eclectic ring finish off this outfit.

She wore dark skinny jeans with an elegant cream colored blouse, a double-looped belt, quilted crossbody bag, and some leopard print flats. Ali’s look works because it combines casual and fun elements – like jeans and leopard flats – with more refined pieces like the blouse and the bag, creating a simple yet put-together look.

A chic cream-colored blouse will make a darker pair of skinny jeans look ladylike, especially with the addition of a dainty gold quilted crossbody bag. To keep the look up to date, though, try rocking some of Ali’s more fun pieces like leopard flats which add a print into the mix, or a belt that loops twice around your waist.
Look 2: Vanessa Hudgens’ Cool Grunge Look

Vanessa Hudgens has a distinct bohemian style that mixes in grunge influences, and she really showed it off this week. Wearing denim cutoffs, a cropped black and white striped t-shirt, a plaid shirt tied around her waist, and a moon pendant necklace, her outfit was ideal for the transition from summer to fall and had a super eclectic vibe to it.

I know I’m not ready to give up my denim cutoffs quite yet, even though fall has begun! This outfit is a good way to keep your jean shorts in outfit rotation – just pair them with tops that are more fall-friendly, like this slouchy black and white striped shirt. (Note how the stripes are thin like those on Vanessa’s shirt.) Vanessa opted for mixed prints by wearing a red plaid shirt around her waist; this one features red, black, and white, working with the color scheme of the top. Finally, add a cool eclectic pendant necklace like this moon one, and finish with some unique sunglasses.
Look 3: Olivia Wilde’s Chic Red & Black Combo

Actress Olivia Wilde looked ultra chic while out in NYC this week, rocking some show-stopping red jeans, a graphic top, tuxedo blazer, black booties, and a black bag. Nothing says fashion like a good tuxedo blazer, especially when paired with cool pieces like a graphic top and colored jeans.

Olivia’s outfit has a bold color scheme, mixing red and black. Colored jeans have been a huge trend, and it seems like many celebs have been favoring red ones with the start of fall. Red jeans like these look awesome paired with a black top with a fun phrase or graphic print, which is instantly made chic with the addition of a tuxedo blazer. Black booties are a super versatile inclusion to your wardrobe and look particularly fashion-forward with this look. Finally, keep accessories minimal yet unique, adding retro-inspired sunglasses and a white structured handbag in a classic shape.

Olivia Palermo has been putting the warm weather to good use lately, being photographed all over New York City in some true-to-form fabulous ensembles. Ms. Palermo always manages to make a statement while keeping her looks chic and classy. This week, she donned bright patterned shorts, a white V-neck blouse, a woven tote bag, and some orange flats.

I love Olivia’s look for a day of shopping or lunching with friends. Colorful, printed shorts are a summer staple, and can be dressed up for nighttime with a pair of heels and statement jewelry. For day, however, try pair them with some bright flats like Olivia’s, a woven tote bag perfect for the summer months, and a fun chunky bracelet. To add an extra touch of Olivia’s classic style, finish with a pair of cat-eye sunglasses.

A black maxi dress can take you from day to night this season, and can work for a variety of different settings. I know I couldn’t live without my own black maxi – I probably wear it once a week! The black maxi dress shown above has buttons running down the front, making it similar to Keira’s – cinch it at the waist with a brown leather belt. A denim jacket makes the outfit more casual, while embellished sandals keep you comfy yet cute.
Look 3: Kate Bosworth is a Boho Beauty

Kate Bosworth rocked a flirty boho look while out and about on a sunny day. Her look centered around a printed dress with ultra-trendy shoulder cutouts. She chose accessories that were in keeping with the boho-trendy vibe, adding a leather saddlebag, suede ankle booties, and a beaded Y-shape necklace.

A printed dress with shoulder cutouts is a fun and flirty addition to your summer wardrobe. It can be worn with simple accessories, since it makes a statement on its own, or with boho accessories, as seen in Kate’s look. A geometric Y-neck necklace plays on the unique neckline of the dress, while rugged ankle booties balance out the feminine frock. A saddlebag adds another cute boho touch, while classic sunglasses finish the look.
