In recent seasons, lacrosse is just one of the sports that’s experienced tremendous growth in South Florida.

This week, two Broward County lacrosse teams will experience a milestone of sorts when they play their first matches at home.

Douglas athletic director Mitch Kaufman confirmed that on March 8, the Eagles boys and girls teams will take the field on campus for the first time. The boys team will take on Pope John Paul at 5 p.m. and the girls team will take on Killian at 7 p.m.

Previously, the Eagles have played most of their games on neutral fields throughout South Florida.
