AUSTIN — Plano West, the defending Class 5A girls soccer state champion, got all the goals it would need during a six-minute stretch of the first half in rolling to a 4-1 win against Round Rock Cedar Ridge in a 5A Region II semifinal Friday.

Seminole Ridge, Fort Lauderdale among top teams in flag football power rating April 20th, 2012

Each spring, writer Joe Pinko puts together a weekly power rating of the state’s top flag football teams. This week, both Broward and Palm Beach counties are well represented.

Despite a 14-13 loss to top-ranked Dr. Phillips last week, Seminole Ridge is ranked No. 2, while Fort Lauderdale comes in ranked at No. 3. Boynton Beach (No. 5), Palm Beach Gardens (No. 6) and Western (No. 10) are also ranked in the top 10.
