Basketball playoffs in full effect for Palm Beach County high schools February 12th, 2013
With the Boca Raton’s boys team suffering an upset loss in the Class 5A state semifinals, soccer season is over for Palm Beach County high schools. But boys and girls basketball playoffs dominate the schedule this week, with teams needing to win to extend their seasons.

Which schools will pack in the most fans at the UIL football championships? September 27th, 2012
Now we finally know, oficially, that Cowboys Stadium will be the host of this year’s UIL championship football games.
The games the last two seasons drew large crowds, with a combined attendance of more than 101,000 for the final day of 2010 and 2011. But I always thought the crowds could be even bigger — if certain teams were involved.
Teams with huge followings.

University School’s Roger Harriott named state’s Class 2B Coach of the Year January 16th, 2011
After leading University School to its first berth in the state championship, Suns coach Roger Harriott has been honored by the Florida Dairy Farmers.
Harriott was named the state’s Class 2B Coach of the Year and is a finalist for overall Coach of the Year, which will be announced later this year.
Harriott is one of eight finalists for the award. The others are Class 1B Coach Andy Price (Warner Christian), Class 1A Coach Jemalle Cornelius (Fort Meade), Class 2A Coach Mike Coe (Madison County), Class 3A Coach Joey Wiles (St. Augustine), Class 4A Coach Dan Burke (Palm Bay), Class 5A Coach Jeff Webb (Fleming Island) and Class 6A Coach Dale Salapa (Orlando Dr. Phillips).
No player from Broward County is a finalist for this year’s Mr. Football Award, although University’s Doug Cook, a quarterback, finished second in the voting for 2B Player of the Year behind Cocoa’s Chevelle Buie. Chaminade quarterback Jerrard Randall finished third in the same classification.
