Duncanville guards Ariel Atkins, Tasia Foman commit to Texas March 4th, 2013
Duncanville guards Ariel Atkins and Tasia Foman gave their oral commitments to Texas on Sunday, one day after leading the Pantherettes to their second straight 5A state title.
“I feel like we can get (Texas) to where it needs to be,” Atkins said. “Coach (Karen) Aston is building it and I think we can help her do that.”
Atkins averaged 16.1 points, 5.7 steals and 4.6 assists in the regular season, and Foman added 11.2 points, 4.2 steals and 3.9 assists.

Colleyville Heritage post Artavia Ford commits to Texas Tech February 22nd, 2013
Colleyville Heritage junior post Artavia Ford committed to the Texas Tech women’s basketball team on Wednesday, Heritage coach Dianna Sager said.
The 6-2 Ford averaged 11.7 points and 6.1 rebounds for Heritage, the District 6-5A champions.
“She makes people pay attention to her down low,” Sager said. “I’m really excited for her and I think Texas Tech got a great player.”

Texas trails Florida for most former HS players on Super Bowl rosters January 25th, 2013
Florida, Texas, California … it’s no surprise which states have the most former high school players on the Baltimore and San Francisco rosters.
Texas has 17 players on the teams’ rosters, either on the active roster, injured reserve or the practice squad.

Allen’s state champion wrestling team will host Texas Dual Championships on Saturday January 14th, 2013
The Allen wrestling team, which last year became the first school to win three consecutive University Interscholastic League state titles, is also the only school to win four straight Texas dual meet championships. Allen hopes to extend that streak to five on Saturday when it hosts this year’s state dual meet.
The Eagles are part of a 15-team field that includes Arlington Martin, Lake Highlands and Flower Mound, which has lost to Allen in the finals the last two years.

Police: Texas A&M receiver, Skyline grad Thomas Johnson missing November 15th, 2012
Texas A&M police are requesting help in finding Aggie freshman receiver Thomas Johnson, who starred at Dallas’ Skyline High.
Johnson hasn’t been seen since leaving his College Station residence on Monday afternoon around 5 p.m. A&M, which had Sunday off following Saturday’s upset of then-No. 1 Alabama, typically practices at that time.
