I know the high school sports world is heavy with football news this time of year, but three Broward County baseball players are currently enjoying the perks of being named All-Americans.

Archbishop McCarthy’s Nicholas Basto and Nick Travieso, along with Coral Springs’ Lewis Brinson were named Under-Armour All-Americans and this weekend, they’ll participate in the 2011 Under-Armour All-America Game. The game is set to take place Aug. 13 at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Infielder Basto, pitcher Travieso, and outfielder Brinson, were three of just 36 players selected nationwide to compete in the game, which will be broadcast live nationally on MLB Network. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. eastern.
